١٣ :
٩ - ١۸
لا تَنقادوا إلى الضَّلالِ بِتَعاليمَ مُختَلِفَةٍ غَريبَةٍ، فمِنَ الخَيرِ أنْ تتَقوَّى قُلوبُكُم بِالنِّعمَةِ، لا بِالأطعِمَةِ التي لا نَفعَ مِنها لِلذينَ يتَعاطَونَها.
لنا مَذبَحٌ لا يَحِقُّ لِلذينَ يَخدُمونَ خَيمَةَ العَهدِ أنْ يأكُلوا مِنهُ، لأنَّ الحَيَواناتِ التي يَدخُلُ رَئيسُ الكَهنَةِ بِدَمِها إلى قُدْسِ الأقداسِ كَفارةً لِلخَطيئَةِ تأكُلُ النارُ أجسامَها في خارِجِ المَحَلَّةِ، ولِذلِكَ ماتَ يَسوعُ في خارِجِ بابِ المدينةِ ليُقَدِّسَ الشَّعبَ بِدَمِهِ. فلنَخرُجْ إلَيهِ، إذًا، في خارِجِ المَحَلَّةِ حامِلينَ عارَهُ. فما لنا هُنا في الأرضِ مدينةِ باقِيَةِ، ولكِنَّنا نَسعى إلى مدينةِ المُستَقبَلِ. فَلنُقَدِّمْ لله بِالمَسيحِ ذَبـيحَةَ الحَمدِ في كُلِّ حينٍ، ثَمرَةَ شِفاهٍ تُسبِّحُ بِاَسمِهِ. لا تَنسَوا عَمَلَ الخَيرِ والمُشاركَةَ في كُلِّ شيءٍ، فمِثلُ هذِهِ الذَّبائحِ تُرضي الله.
أطيعوا مُرشِديكُم واَخضَعوا لهُم، لأنَّهُم يَسهَرونَ على نُفوسِكُم كأنَّ الله يُحاسِبُهُم علَيها، فيَعمَلوا عَمَلَهُم بِفَرَحِ، لا بِحَسرَةٍ يكونُ لكُم فيها خَسارَةِ.
صَلُّوا لأجلِنا، فنَحنُ واثِقونَ لِسَلامَةِ ضَميرِنا، راغِبونَ أنْ نُحسِنَ التَّصرُّفَ في كُلِّ شيءٍ. 19أطلُبُ إلَيكُم هذا بإلحاحِ، حتى يَرُدَّني الله إلَيكُم في أسرَعِ وقتٍ.

Letter to Hebrew
13 : 9 - 18
Be not carried away with various
and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace,
not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by them.
We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle;
for of those beasts whose blood is carried as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy
of holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp.
Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood,
suffered without the gate: therefore let us go forth to him without the camp,
bearing his reproach: for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the
coming one.
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise continually to God, that
is, the fruit of the lips confessing his name. But of doing good and
communicating of your substance be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God
is well pleased.
Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those
that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for
this [would be] unprofitable for you. Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves
that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.

وقالَ لهُم في تَعليمِهِ: «إيَّاكُم ومُعَلِّمي الشَّريعةِ، يُحِبُّونَ المَشيَ بالثـيابِ الطَويلةِ والتَّحيَّاتِ في السّاحاتِ ومكانَ الصدارَةِ في المجامِـعِ ومَقاعِدَ الشَّرفِ في الوَلائِمِ. يأكلونَ بُيوتَ الأرامِلِ، وهُم يُظهِرونَ أنَّهُم يُطيلونَ الصَّلاةَ. هَؤُلاءِ يَنالُهُم أشَدُّ العِقابِ«. وجلَسَ يَسوعُ في الهَيكَلِ، تُجاهَ صُندوقِ التَّبرُّعاتِ، يُراقِبُ النـاسَ وهُم يُلقونَ فيهِ النُّقودَ. فألقى كثيرٌ مِنَ الأغنياءِ نُقودًا كثيرةً. ثُمَّ جاءَت أرمَلةِ فَقيرةِ، فألقَت في الصُّندوقِ دِرهَمينِ. فدَعا تلاميذَهُ وقالَ لهُم: «الحَقَّ أقولُ لكُم: هذِهِ الأرمَلةُ الفَقيرةُ ألقَت في الصُّندوقِ أكثرَ مما ألقاهُ الآخرونَ كُلُّهُم. فَهُم ألقَوا مِنَ الفائِضِ عَنْ حاجاتِهِم. وأمّا هيَ، فمِنْ حاجَتِها ألْقَت كُلَ ما تملِكُ لِمَعيشَتِها«.

reading from the book of Mark
12 : 38 - 44
And he said unto them in his doctrine,
Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
